The book does give a detalied account of the sorority's history however I found that it was very narrow it context and did not provide imperative information for anyone interested in this social group.

This collection of history thoroughly explains the intricateness of the first black greek letter sorority. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. continues to strive for service to all mankind and this piece details how it all began. One word to describe both the book and the organization would be EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent Mar 14, 1998
Excellent history book on the first African American sorority which started in 1908 at Howard University. It chronicles the history of Alpha Kappa Alpha, and so, is a history of African American women. Alpha Kappa Alpha continues as it strives toward sisterhood, excellence and service to all mankind.
